Margaret Becker has been in the Christian music industry for over 20 years. She moved to Nashville, TN, in 1985 and was signed to Sparrow Records as a songwriter. In 1986 she toured with Rick Cua as a backup singer and also sang on a Steve Camp album that same year. Because of those two successes she ended up with a contract for her solo work as an artist on Sparrow records that ended in 2002. Ms. Becker is currently involved as a producer of indie artists (Rita Springer, Ginny Owens, Mitch McVicker and many others), participating women's conferences and supporting many charities.

Ms. Becker has been single her entire life. I think some people don't understand that and thus rumors have circulated about her sexuality. Her being Roman Catholic might have fueled this perception due to the attention brought by the homosexual scandals within the Catholic church. None the less, it is unfair to assume and spread rumors about someone not knowing any facts, especially when she has dedicated her time to helping people get to know Jesus and has struggled to keep the faith in today's society (and you wonder why people won't seek help from others in the church). I personally know that God has been in some of her music, so listen to it as it is without being tainted with assumptions. God can touch you through her honesty and insight and good music is always a nice bonus.
