Rick Cua is one of those artists that had made it successfully in a secular career and gave it up to do Christian music. Seems that today many artists start off in Christian music hoping to make it mainstream. It always shows what is in someone's heart by what they are willing to give up.

He first started doing Christian music in 1983 and had a rock sound up until he signed onto Reunion records in 1988. Now don't misunderstand, he still had rock songs, but they did take on a softer tone. "Young Boy, Young Girl" was a song from "Midnight Sun" with Rebecca Sparks that drew a lot of attention due to the honesty of asking two lovers to wait until marriage before having sex. That kind of honesty I believe is needed today. That is the draw to Rick Cua in a nutshell: his honesty. It is sad that in Christian music that trait is rare but I praise God Rick has it.

Currently Rick is serving at his church in Tennessee while still writing, producing, singing, etc. Another amazing thing is that he is still married to Diana Cua and going strong after 39 years of marriage. That is a testament in and of itself among a society (and industry) full of divorce. Praise God for that testimony.
