Bond-Servant of Jesus?

I know it has been some time that I have written.  There has been so many things that Jesus has been revealing to me it is almost overwhelming but not in a “too much to handle” sort of way.  The biggest thing can be summarized with one word: HUMILITY.  This started to dawn on me when I was reading the Scriptures about us being bond-servants of Jesus.  A bond servant is someone who works for another without wages.  If someone works for another expecting no wages then they expect to receive nothing from that person.  That is how we are to serve Christ.  We are to submit our wills to his as Jesus did in the Garden.

So many times I see people serving God within their own strength with the motive that if they give God what he wants then he will give them what they want.  Then they become disillusioned and give up when things get rocky.  Serving Jesus ensures hardships in regards to trials, but it is for our best so that we can learn and build perseverance.  We always have to submit ourselves to his will out of love, not obligation.  We should want to please our master because he has always put forth what is best not what we want.  It amazes me how many times us humans desire and strive for things that only hurt us and may cause us death.  Why not give it up so that we can be used and thus guaranteeing that we will have joy and contentment?  Always consider others greater than yourself and God will smile. When I know that God is happy with me, there is nothing that can compare to that freedom.
